RV Park and Balneario "El Corsario"

View Mexico (Mainland III) on divatmotoros's travel map.

Our next stop was again a bit like "summer in the wintertime". We headed from the beloved Puebla to the seaside of the Gulf of Mexico. In the area we checked there are loads of campsites and day-use pools called "balneario" and normal hotels too. However each seemed like over their glory days, lacking maintenance and being in quite poor conditions. The reviews from google maps were steadily declining in the past 5 years, so it was hard to pick our next location in the area.

The one which was mostly recommended in a related facebook group was not the right one. We stopped, asked the owner but it was very expensive, the toilets were in bad shape and there was not a working sewer connection. So despite being tired from driving we decided to look for something else. We continued and after a few kilometers we found "El Corsario" which was much better. The showers and the toilets were not new here either but the owner, Rodolfo was making every effort to keep them in good shape.

We started with one night, then stayed a full week, then added a few more days to complete our mini-vacation on the beach. We also made a new friend, the only other camper in the balneario, Louis from Canada. We spent a lot of great dinners together, cooking together, BBQs, pasta, you name it. Great stories were exchanged and we hope we can see each other sometimes, somewhere again!
